(Sunday, 01 August 2010 03:05)
We wrap up the first year of the podcast with a nice meaty show. We've got some great new music for you, including a non-English blues track. We've got a full track from Michigan blues artist David Gerald. We have mini-rants from both Keith and Jonathan. We've got a wrap-up of Red Hot Blues & BBQ. We've got a history of Texas Blues and how to work them into a blues dance set. And we wrap it up with some feedback. Check it out!

June is a hot month filled with hot music. We've got new tracks as always. We've got a lot more on juke and ballroom style dancing & music. We've got feedback from Australia. And we've got some thoughts on whether or not Robert Johnson's recordings may be getting played back too fast. All in all, it's a great show, so check it out!

We hit double digits on the episode count as we leave spring and roll right on into summer. We've got a full track from the Blue Vipers of Brooklyn, some favorite songs from a couple of the bluesSHOUT! 2010 staff, the start of a discussion about juke vs. ballroom music, new music from Keith and Jonathan, and a tribute to Lena Horne. All in all, it's a jam-packed way to roll into Memorial Day, so download away and listen on the drive!

In the land of Confessing The Blues, April has 31 days - so happy Apr. 31, and happy episode #9! We take a bit of a diversion this episode since Keith and Jonathan can't manage to find a time to sit down and record together. Instead, you get a short show to tide you over to our big BluesSHOUT! blow-out bonanza in May. This month, we've got some new tracks for you to listen to and some awesome audience feedback. Enjoy the short show, and get ready for a doozy in May.

Sliding in at the very tail end of March, it's episode #8 of Confessing The Blues! We make up for our shorter episode in February with a spring starter chock full o' new music. We've got our normal new music picks, we throw in a handful of instrumental tracks in various styles, and jump into feedback where we end up on a digression about faster blues and the blues community. Check it out!

It's been a while since I've posted here, since my DJing took a back seat to life and changes. I just moved to New Orleans in search of more design and architecture opportunities, and have been taking advantage of the prevalence of this city's amazing jazz musicians. This weekend is the San Francisco Down Home Blues Festival, and quite possibly my last event for a while as I start focusing more on my professional life for a while. However, music is not going to leave my life, and so while you might not see as many setlists posted here, I'll...

Blues UnionThis was one of my favorite sets in a while - mainly because I was pushing myself not to use the same music I always do, so I spent a lot more time than usual prepping. I'd like to make that more of a habit - it gives my sets more versatility. Another thing I enjoyed was the fact that I was actively engaged in DJing this set the whole way through - I didn't talk to people or dance. I think that makes a really big difference. It's easy to lose track of the floor, especially when...
